Are you retired but not Retiring?

March U3A is an active and friendly organisation for retired and semi-retired people who share skills, interests, knowledge and hobbies. Some people join to learn something new, others enjoy the social interaction.

Founded in December 2004 we now have over 190 members and nearly 40 special interest and social groups.
We have groups ranging from Art to Walking, Dressmaking to Poetry. Take a look at the Groups page. If there is no group that takes your fancy let us know and perhaps we have members interested in starting something new.

Our monthly meetings are held in the

Main Hall,
March Community Centre
34 Station Road,
March,
PE15 9LH
on the second Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm (Doors open at 1:40pm). You will be made most welcome.

These meetings bring together what is happening within the groups and typically include an interesting presentation, often by a guest speaker (see Events).

Annual membership is £17 and there is a fee of £1 to attend each main monthly meeting. Additional costs may apply to individual Groups.

March Camera Club

We are a small and friendly Club based near the town centre meeting at:
The British Red Cross Hall
Robingoodfellows Lane,
March,
PE15 8HL
close to the March Town Football ground.

It meets at 7.30 p.m. every Thursday from the beginning of September to the end of April.

The Club has been established in its current basis since at least the early 1960’s, its earlier history however is unfortunately not documented.

With the advance of the Digital Age the world of photography has changed immensely and the Club has embraced the opportunities with enthusiasm. We do retain the knowledge and appreciation of traditional photography and its methods among our membership but our main interest as an active Camera Club is in the final image, be it a projection or a print.

The Club has over 20 active members

Fenland Equestrian Centre

Fenland Equestrian Centre is located midway between the villages of Elm and Fridaybridge and the town of Wisbech in North Cambridgeshire.

The centre began modestly in 2001 when Steven and Amanda Pinder moved to the area from Yorkshire with their Racehorse "Efaad" only to find that there was no suitable stabling in the area.  Undaunted, they set about building their own livery yard with a capacity to stable 9 horses.  Such was the demand that they very soon had to expand the stabling to accommodate 18 horses.

Following a successful bid, "Olympic Legacy" funding was obtained from Sports England to assist in the building of further facilities. The centre now covers 20 acres and includes fenced arenas including an all-weather arena, floodlit to Olympic standard, stabling for 34 horses, and a cafe.

As a genuine community facility the centre is open for equestrian and non-equestrian events such as football and dog training.  In addition to providing much-  needed facilities the centre has also created employment and training. All staff are qualified first aiders and are CRB checked and trained in Child protection.  On the other hand you may be interested in riding lessons or want to arrange livery for your horse or pony.

Our new building includes a cafe - just the thing if you're dropping someone else off for a lesson or passing by and in the need of refreshments - much more comfortable than waiting in the car or having to make two trips!

The Tack Shop has everything you need for horse and rider. Friendly staff are always willing to help and give advice.

Looking for Birthday ideas, why not give one of our gift vouchers or hold your birthday party here. Birthday parties can be tailored to your needs or have a theme.

Whatever you're looking for, we hope you find it, but if you need any further information, please feel free to contact us or pop in and have a look around.

Open every day from 8.30 am to 5.30pm We are often open late most evenings until about 9pm and Sundays for Shows and Events.
